Wind Map

I shared this on my Sagebrush Lessons Facebook page but since I think this is absolutely one of the most incredible things I’ve ever seen I’m sharing it here.

If you click on the Wind Map it will show the prevaling winds from across the county with their direction and speed.  I love seeing how the winds flow and change with storms, etc. You can try to pick out major land forms, such as the Applachians, the Great Basin, the Rockies or even the Mississippi River and see how the wind moves around them.  This map gives you real time wind movements so changes every day.

Anyone even remotely interested in weather will enjoy this and it’s a great addition to any homeschooling science/weather unit.

Tell me what you think of the wind map.
